March 16, 1958 - August 14, 2021
Fort Worth, Texas - With her husband Kirk at her side, Ann McFadyen Millican passed Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, after a lengthy battle with multiple myeloma.
Memorial Service: 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, 800 W. 5th Street, officiated by Dr. Tim Bruster.
Memorials: Suggestions as to gifts in her name are the Justice Ministry of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth or the Women's Center of Tarrant County.
Ann was the second of four daughters born to John and Margaret McFadyen. Growing up in Lubbock, she developed a deep love for the piano, practicing hours daily and sharing her talent by playing at church and in restaurants. After earning her BA and MBA from Texas Tech, she moved to Dallas to begin a 15-year career in corporate banking, rising to vice president at NationsBank. Leaving banking, she earned a PhD in Strategic Management from Texas A&M in 2000. She spent seven years on the faculty at North Carolina State before joining the College of Business at UT Arlington in 2007. Ann loved teaching and thrived on research, committed to scholarly excellence, publishing numerous papers and articles. On Oct. 6, 2018, she and Kirk married, her first marriage. They loved cooking and traveling together with friends, Tuscany, Canada, New Mexico, Sea Island. A member of First United Methodist Church, she participated in Leadership Fort Worth, chaired her neighborhood association, and was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha and Colonial Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her father, John McFadyen.
Ann is survived by her husband, Kirk Millican of Fort Worth; mother, Margaret McFadyen of Lubbock; sisters, Jean Bennett (Michael) of Lubbock, Karen Davis (Mark) of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Mary Brooks (Wesley) of Abilene; along with seven nieces and nephews.

Ann always had a sweet and beautiful smile. She was such a gracious lady. I will miss visiting with her in the church garden on Sundays. She´s now in heaven with our heavenly Lord. God be with the family now and always.
