Anne Hertzman Gilbert

Anne Hertzman Gilbert, 82, a loving aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and friend, died peacefully Friday afternoon, Aug. 15, 2003, at a local care center.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday in the Chapel at Beth - El Congregation. Rabbi Ralph Mecklenburger will officiate. Burial: Following committal prayers at 10 a.m. Anne will be laid to rest next to her husband, Leroy, in the Beth - El Section of Greenwood Memorial Park.

Memorials: Those desiring, please make memorial contributions in her name to the Jewish Federation of Fort Worth and Tarrant County.

A native of Louisville, Ky., Anne Hertzman was born Aug. 11, 1921, the daughter of Irwin and Dorothy Kaufman Hertzman. She moved to Fort Worth in 1959 and married Leroy A. Gilbert. Mr. Gilbert died in 1983.

Anne was a longtime member of Beth - El Congregation and Congregation Ahavath Sholom. She also held memberships in Hadassah and B'nai B'rith Women.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Jane Hertzman Rosenthal.

Survivors: Nephews and nieces, Joel Rosenthal and wife, Susan of Canton, S.D.; Steve Rosenthal and wife, Carol of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Andy Gilbert and wife, Rosie of Austin; Burton Gilbert and wife, Cynthia of Fort Worth; Steve Gilbert and wife, Cathy of Coto De Caza, Calif.; and Shelley Hirsh and husband, Richard of Dallas; several great-nieces and great-nephews; sister-in-law, Sara Betty Gilbert of Fort Worth; and several cousins and special friends.
