Arthur May Obituary

Arthur C. May, 94, a long time Eastside Fort Worth resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 1951, at a local care center.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Montgomery Street at Tulsa Way. The Rev. Ronald Heimsoth will officiate. Burial: Following committal services, Art will be laid to rest next to his wife, Bernice, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Bearers of his casket will be his grandson, Jeff, and fellow church members, Ed Anderson, Kermit Anderson, Jon Berg, Wilburn Long and Kenneth Sanderson. Visitation: He will lie in state at Robertson Mueller Harper, where his family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials: Those desiring, please make memorial contributions in Art's name to Trinity Lutheran Church or a charity of choice.

A native of Brenham, Arthur Carl William May was born May 31, 1908, the son of Arthur Karl and Bertha Meyer May. He goes to join his beloved wife, Bernice, who died in 1996.

Art moved to Fort Worth in 1938. He joined Southwest Chevrolet and Bill McKay before retiring after 34 years as bookkeeper and office manager. After leaving the automobile companies, he joined Robertson Mueller Harper Funeral Directors as office manager and retired in 1987.

He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was an avid bowler.

Survivors: Son, David May, of Chillicothe, Ohio; grandson, Jeff May and his wife, Andrea; granddaughters, Bethany and Sarah Henson; great-grandson, Joshua May, all of Fort Worth; and sister, Hildegard May, of Brenham.
