Barclay William Burrow - "Todd Wallace III, TW3" (November 10, 1951 - August 26, 2025)
On August 26, 2025, in Denton, Texas, the world lost the unmistakable voice and unforgettable spirit of Barclay William Burrow, known to many as Todd Wallace III or simply TW3. He was 73 years old.
Born November 10, 1951, in El Campo, Texas, Barclay's love for words, stories, music, news, and broadcasting began early. At 14 years old, his Boy Scout Troop experienced the operations of the local KULP Radio Station and Barclay's voice was discovered. Senator Culp Krueger and Fred Barbee of Bar-B Broadcasting became Barclay's mentors through high school, college, and beyond. Barclay was often behind a microphone - spinning stories, sharing music, and becoming a familiar voice to his community. His work as a voice-over announcer in Victoria cemented him as a local talent whose voice many people still remember.
In 1975, Barclay graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in education and a major in journalism. That same year he began teaching at Victoria High School, where he guided students in journalism, photojournalism and in yearbook and newspaper production. His passion for storytelling inspired generations of students to see the world differently.
In 1996, Barclay moved his family to Fort Worth where he continued his dedication to teaching English at Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School until his retirement.
Barclay lived a life full of creativity, connection, and service. Even after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, he refused to let the disease define him. Instead, he poured his time and energy into the Neuro Fitness Foundation, helping others living with neurological conditions find strength, support, and community. His resilience and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Barclay was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Orvil and Gertrude Iola Bremser Burrow, and by his beloved wife, Melanie Burrow. Mourning the passing of their big brother and friend are Joycelyn Morris of Hockley, Texas; Leonard Burrow of Plano, Texas; and Eric Burrow of El Campo, Texas. He will be missed by his children, Michelle Dawson and her husband Benjamin of Aubrey, Texas; Melissa Benoit of Irving, Texas; and Jonathan Burrow of Las Vegas, Nevada. Barclay was a proud grandfather to Vincent and Tristan Dawson of Aubrey, Texas.
Barclay's family invites you to honor his life not with flowers, but with generosity. Donations may be made in his memory to The House Foundation (
https://shop.housepartydistro.com), a nonprofit created by his son Jonathan to help families facing emergency needs. All donations will be matched by Jonathan's business, House Party Distro.
Barclay will be remembered for his voice, his humor, his love of teaching, and his unwavering ability to lift others up-even in the face of hardship. He was a brother, father, grandfather, mentor, and a friend whose life reminds us that our greatest legacy is the way we touch the lives of others.
