B.E. Malone Obituary

B.E. "Pat" Malone Jr., 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at University Christian Church, 2720 S. University Drive, Fort Worth. Entombment: at a later date in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Memorials: Gifts in his memory may be made to a charity of choice.
Pat was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Paris, Texas, son of the late Lillian Wadsworth and Brainerd Ernest Malone Sr. He joined the Navy after graduation from high school and after completing OCS, he served on a destroyer in the South Pacific during World War II. Pat earned his degree from the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Sigma Chi. He married Katherine Werme and they raised three children in Oklahoma City and St. Louis while he worked for Standard Oil Co.
Pat and Katherine moved to Dallas in 1967, where they owned Continental Office Supply until 1981. They were members of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, and he loved to play golf at Brookhaven Country Club. Pat was always generous to friends and family.
Survivors: His wife of 61 years, Katherine; children, Kathy Nicol and her husband, Lee, Patrick Malone and his wife, Cindia, and Tim Malone and his wife, Diane; grandchildren, Dr. Blair Solow and her husband, Mike, Lara Bull and her husband, Ray, Loren Malone, Brad Nicol, Wade Malone, Jodi Malone, Adrianne Malone and Chance Malone; and two great-grandsons.
