Bennie Sie "Ben" Stapleton

1921 - 2009

Bennie "Ben" Sie Stapleton, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, July 27, 2009, at a local care center.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Friday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Ben was born Sept. 8, 1921, in Whitewright to James Luther and Willie Stapleton. He was raised in Denison. He served as a corporal in the United States Army Air Force and was honorably discharged Dec. 30, 1945, from Fort Sam Houston.
Ben worked hard all his life to support his family as owner/operator of a service station, auto parts salvage yards, truck driving, etc. Up until age 86, he operated a mowing service using his tractor to mow and brush-hog pasture land and property for the Azle and Weatherford areas. Ben loved the outdoors and he loved to work.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness, support and generosity. Bennie Sie Stapleton, husband, father, grandparent, uncle and friend, was loved by all.
Ben was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors: Wife, Sadie Mae Stapleton; eight children, Bennie Sie Cummings, Phyllis Raye Floyd and husband, Gary, Doyle Jay Stapleton and wife, Nova, W.G. "Bill" Powell and wife, Denise, Debbie Robinson and husband, Doug, Judie Williams, James Luther "Skeeter" Stapleton and Kerry Stapleton and wife, Dawn; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and loving pet, Jodie.
