In late summer, 1992, I was summoned for Jury Duty at the age of 18. During voir dire, heat in the courtroom due to a malfunctioning AC overwhelmed me, causing me to momentarily pass out. Judge Burdock apparently activated an emergency button, which summoned several TCSO Deputies, FWFD, and FWPD, especially given the events of a couple months prior. I was very disappointed not to serve. A few weeks later, I received a handwritten note from Judge Burdock thanking me for my willingness to serve, and advising me of the case outcome. It was a wonderful gesture on his part.

Bill was a highly respected individual whose heart was to protect our population. He will be missed. I worked as his campaign manager when he first ran for Judge. He was so thoughtful that he called me the night of his win and congratulated me on doing a great job. It takes a special person to take the time out of celebrating to congratulate others.

While at Utah State, Bill was one of my room mates. He was a little older than the rest of us because of his truck driving after high school. He was watching out for us and always had a smile. It is no surprise he was a respected judge and lawyer.
