He was raised in Lawton, Okla., where he graduated from Lawton High School and attended Cameron College.
Bill married Shirley Gene English in 1955.
He was a general superintendent in the automotive industry in Arlington, retiring in 1985 after 28 years of service.
Bill was an avid and accomplished mechanic. He loved Porsches and was a lifetime member of the Staggerwing Museum Foundation.
He also built hot stock race cars and was the backbone of the three-time championship winning team, "Danesport Racing."
His most cherished and treasured part of life was being called "grumpappy" by his beautiful granddaughters. As Bill would say, he loved them "better than peanut butter and sour pickles!"
Many thanks to Community Hospice of Texas for their support and care to Bill and his family.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Gene Adelman; father, Paul Adelman; and stepfather, Glenn Miller.
Survivors: Daughter, Teddi Adelman; son, Dane Adelman and wife, Marlene; mother, Blanche Miller; brother, Jerald Adelman and wife, Annette; granddaughters, Shirley and Shelby; stepbrother, Al Miller; and his loving sweetheart, Shirley Shady.

Our condolences go to Bill's family at this time of great loss. There is nothing we can say at this moment that will speed the healing, only time and prayer will do so.
Bill was a very good friend of mine, he was the the instrument that got me my first mangagers job with General Motors. Again, I want to thank him for bringing me into the organization. He told me this job would take care of me and my family...he was very correct. God Bless you Bill, we will miss your candor.
