Bob Holland Obituary

Bob Wendell Holland
April 6, 1935 - January 31, 2023
Houston, Texas - Bob was born on April 6, 1935, to parents Bill and Hazel Holland in Liberty, Texas. He graduated high school in Winters, Texas, where he made lifelong friends in the class of 1953.
Bob earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin, followed by a dental degree in Houston. He started a private practice in Fort Worth where he cared for his patients for 40 years.
As a member of University Baptist Church, Bob was a spiritual man. He volunteered in his community, whether it was sharing his smoked turkeys, pizzas, cheesecakes and tortes, or helping build houses for the less fortunate. He enjoyed fly fishing with friends in Montana, and visiting Alaska with family. He was a devoted husband who was married to his wife Merle for 57 years. When Merle fell ill and became bedridden, Bob was at her side every day for 12 years until her passing.
Along with his wife and parents, Bob is preceded in death by his oldest son Guy. He is survived by his daughter Beth Klimas and her husband Eric, his youngest son Mark Holland and his wife Wendy, and their children Rowan and Gage, as well as Bob's older brother Bill, his wife Carolyn, and their family.
Visitation is at 1:30 on Saturday, February 25, at Greenwood Chapel in Fort Worth followed by the ceremony at 2:30. In lieu of flowers please donate to Smile Train or the charity of your choice.

My Uncle Bob is a gentle giant with his strong caring for others, and remarkable endurance for his Christian life of practice, love you Bob; Boomer! I will see you again.

Bob was a wonderful dentist and man. He was our dentist for many years. On the last day we saw him, he presented us with a chocolate cake and explained that baking was his hobby. His quiet gentle presence in the world will be missed.
