Arlington, Texas - Mark Eugene Absher, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on March 22, 2026, at the age of 73. He was born on January 9, 1953, in Peoria, Illinois, to Ralph and Virginia Absher. Mark was a man of many passions; he cherished time spent on the golf course, relished the tranquility of fishing, and enjoyed the camaraderie of smoking cigars, but nothing brought him greater joy than being surrounded by his grandchildren.-Hazel Hixson, Allison Absher, and Austin Absher.

A proud alumnus of Illinois State University, Mark graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. His career in management afforded him the opportunity to touch many lives, always with a smile and a hearty laugh that could brighten anyone's day. Mark had an incredible way of making friends wherever he went; he never met a stranger and possessed a genuine curiosity about people that fostered connections that will last a lifetime.

Mark is preceded in death by his loving parents, Ralph and Virginia Absher, and his sister, Donna Horning. He is survived by his children, Samuel Absher and Sarah Hixson; grandchildren, Hazel Hixson, Allison Absher, and Austin Absher.

Mark's family will be holding a celebration of life service in his honor on May 2, 2026 from 2:00-6:00 PM at 1818 Rogers Road, Newark, Texas 76071, where friends and loved ones will gather to reminisce and share memories that reflect the joy he brought into their lives.

Mark Eugene Absher will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love of his family in that eternal golf course in the sky.
