Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Strawn. Burial: Brad Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Bob was born in Swenson to Omer Lee and Lou F. Slemmons Mallory. He graduated from Caddo High School. In December 1943 he entered the Navy and served his country until his honorable discharge in April 1946. He married Mary Margaret Orsini on Nov. 22, 1951, and she preceded him in death Dec. 5, 1996. He then married Judy Haney on Oct. 26, 1997, in Strawn. Bob worked for the civil service as supply manager at Camp Wolters in Mineral Wells for 26 years as well as ranching on the family farm all of his life until his death. He served several terms on the Strawn school board and a term on the Strawn City Council. He was active in the Methodist church in Palo Pinto and Strawn where he was a member for 40 years and served on the board of the church for 30 years, as well as leading singing and teaching Sunday school. Bob was very active with his children and grandchildren as well as many of the local children. He enjoyed Strawn football and watching the Dallas Mavericks basketball team.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Johnnie Morgan; and brother, Hugh Mallory.
Survivors: His wife, Judy Mallory of Strawn; daughter, Melodee Ray and husband, Phillip, of Stephenville; son, Mark Mallory and wife, Laura, of Weatherford; stepchildren, David Haney, Philicia Dixon and husband, Gary, and Donald Haney and wife, Beth, all of Strawn and Mona Parsons and husband, Tim, of Mingus; brother, Pat Mallory and wife, Barbara, of Bluff Dale; grandchildren, Monty Ray, Mallory Ray, Mark Mallory II, Lesa, Adelheid, Christina and Katlynn Mallory; eight stepgrandchildren; one great-granddaughter on the way; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
