Candace Walsh Obituary

Candy Walsh, 60, a longtime resident of Arlington and beloved friend of many, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in Arlington. Service: 3 p.m. Saturday May 18, at Moore's Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis, Arlington. Candace Ann "Candy" Messersmith Walsh was born May 12, 1952, in Peoria, Ill. She was a hard-working, fun-loving and friendly woman who never met a stranger. She enjoyed being on the water, sunshine and trips to Las Vegas. Candace Ann provided many devoted years of service as a waitress at Mercado Juarez. She was also an extraordinary mother who was actively involved in her children's youth. In her later years, Candy enjoyed vintage collecting, accessorizing her wardrobe and quiet evenings at home. She loved her job as a store clerk and vintage dealer at Antiques and Moore. Candy was preceded in death by her father, Donald "Don" Messersmith. Survivors: Candy will forever be remembered by her daughter, April Rios; son, Shawn Walsh; mother, Jane Messersmith Henrickson; and brother, Randy Messersmith and his spouse, Shelly. She will also be remembered by her friends and co-workers, whom she dearly loved.

I too was very sad to learn of Candy's passing. She was so happy and friendly all of the time. She kept my booth arranged and dusted for me when I could not be there. The mall will not be the same without her. My condolences go to her entire family.

I will miss my "adopted little Sister". Candy has been a big part of my life for the past 9 years. She was the Heart and Personality of the Mall and it will never be the same for me. As much as we will miss her, the loss is so much greater for her beloved family. My thoughts and prayers are with them. Love you, Little Sis. "Fancy"

So sorry to learn about Candy. I only knew her from Antiques on Park Row.
She was always happy and helpful, remembered names and treated everyone so special. It will be hard to go to the mall and not see her there. God bless her dear family.
