He received a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma and his doctor of osteopathy degree from the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1939. He practiced medicine in Missouri from 1941-1948 and then moved his family to Fort Worth where he continued his practice and joined the Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas. He was named Practitioner of the Year 1973 by the Texas General Practitioner Society and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from NTSU (now UNT). Dr. Everett was recently awarded the honorary Doctor of Philanthropy for his faithful and generous support to the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He was honored by his peers, patients, and the entire community as a true leader in medicine, business, and human kindness. He was an ordained elder of Ridglea Presbyterian Church, an avid golfer, Shriner and enthusiastic world traveler. Dr. Everett was predeceased by his loving wife, Mary Hope, with whom he enjoyed a long and unusually close relationship. My memories of Uncle Carl are full of laughter and love. He was always quick with a joke or a punch line and yet, just as quick with a hug. He reminded me so much of my grandfather, Earl, that it made me feel that much closer to him. I will miss him terribly but am grateful for the time we spent together. You will always be loved, Uncle Carl!

Dr. Everett was my doctor as a kid in the 1940' and 50's. We lived a few houses away from him in those days. He treated me when I had polio and later stated that he would pay for me to go to medical school if I desired. He was a good man & doctor. God bless him.

TCOM has been the only institution in the nation that accepted me as a medical student based upon my potential to be something more for others and my progress despite difficult life circumstances. Dr. Everett's desire to good for the community will live in my practice until the end of my days, and perpetually in our communities and future generations. In his honor, I promise to follow his footsteps and strive to leave a better world behind us.

Dr. Everett delivered me in 1949 and took care of me as a child. At age 63 now, I still remember him every so fondly, (just didn't like the shots). HA! I was thrilled to read the article and am so proud to have been delivered by such a distinguished gentleman, and he truly was a gentleman). My prayers are with you and your family at this time of loss.

JUST THE BEST. He genuinelly cared about everyone he came in contact with. He was our family physician all thru the'50s & 60's and delivered both of my children. Makes me a little sad, but I know Heaven is rejoicing to have him.
