Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
Mr. Thompson, as a member of Everman United Methodist Church, served his Lord, family, community and country. During World War II, he was in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Swank.
Survivors: Loving wife of 56 years, Nancy Jean Thompson; son, David Thompson and wife, Nancy of Spring; daughters, Ruth Taylor and husband, Bill of Tioga, Bev Miller and husband, Steve of California; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Thompson of Tennessee and Nell Thompson of Euless; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of extended family and friends.

I am so grateful for the love, humor, and constant presence that Uncle Cecil always provided our family. (Not to mention the quarters!) He will always be in my heart.

It is 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. I just heard about Cecil. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I am out of town on business and won't return till Tuesday.
