My condolences to your family. I know how special your daughter was, having a grand daughter Ashley who is a downs young lady. These peoples are so special they easily take your heart and no one can say "such a shame she has down syndrom." Ashley is 15 and very special as was your Christin. Bless them all

I remember seeing Christin at weekly coin auctions; she was definitely at the center of the action, always glad to see everyone, and always in a good (if sometimes mischievous) mood.
Theatrical by nature, her measured reply of "Box!" will be forever in my memory. (Those who attended the auctions will know what I mean.)
The world is a sadder place without Christin. My wife and I extend our condolences to the Gilbert family.

I just heard of Christin's passing, and was quite saddened. She and her father came to an auction I ran almost every week during the 1990s. "Hug everyone" was her motto...more people in the world should try it.

My thoughts and prayers are with you daily. I know that leaning on God and his strength will help you through this time of sadness. Cristin was an angel here on Earth and is now holding her best friend's hand in Heaven. My grandmother read the Serenity Prayer daily and found incredible strength in times of need.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
God bless you and your family.

Gilbert Family,
My heart felt sympathy goes out to you.Though I never met your daughter I know what it is like to have a special needs child and lose them.I lost my son Branden Davis in Sept.18,2004.You had your daughter just as long as I had my son.I guess God needed them at this time.Though we do not understand why we just know that the pain that we are going through will subside in time.(at least that is what I am told by others) God gives us peace at this time when we go through this.I will be praying for you and your family.Thank You for sharing a piece of your daughter in the article that was written. She is an amazing girl!God Bless each and everyone in your family.

As I was reading the paper today, I was deeply touched by the article about Christin. Although I did not know her, I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family. After having taught second grade for 26 years, I know how rewarding it was to be on the receiving end of the hugs and the unconditional love of a precious student. May God bless you at this time of sadness.

Dearest Paula (and Jack) -
I remember the fantastic kenos at your house so clearly and fondly(a holiday season could not really begin until after thanksgiving keno at your house). I remember when Cristin one time put a napkin in my lap. In so many ways she saw clearer and did better than many of us do on a day-to-day basis.
She gave great hugs from day one. I remember her playing games and watching tv with Collin when I brought him to keno.
Christin gave so much to so many. She was one of God's angels on earth.
She was given such a big heart from birth because she got it from both sides of her family tree.
She was a blessing and so are you. You all made her very happy and proud. Your support and encouragement for Christin should be a role model for parenting.
It was clear that she loved you both very, very, very much.
With love from your "old" friend - Arlene
