Christine DeVries Obituary

Christine E. Surrette DeVries peacefully passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009, in Grand Prairie after a strong and courageous fight against cancer for the past eight years.
Celebration of life: 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, June 18, with a dinner 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ruthe Jackson Center in Grand Prairie. The family invites all of Chris' friends to come and join them.
Chris was born Feb. 7, 1966, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Betty Surrette Guerrero and the late Robert Surrette. She grew up in Mesquite, where she attended West Mesquite High School.
Chris enjoyed life to the fullest, while striving to better the lives of others. She never failed to help a stranger and always gave her best to friends and loved ones, including her bulldog Butch. She touched so many lives of others and will be truly missed.
Survivors: The love of her life, Randy DeVries and his parents, Milton and Caroline DeVries; siblings, Sandra Lynn, Patty Smith and Susan Langley; and several nephews and nieces who adored her.
