Celebration of life: 7 p.m. Thursday at Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 4100 Horne St., Pastor Maurice Barnes officiating. Burial: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Survivors: Her husband, Clarence McPherson; children, Clarence T. McPherson, LaToya Pierce (Joseph), April Overton (Broderick); brothers, Jefferson Cannon Jr., David Cannon (Faye), Eddie Cannon, James Cannon, Robert Lewis, Joe Lewis; sister, Kathleen Nalls (Steve); seven grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Clarence, it is with our deepest sympathy to hear of the passing of your wife, for truly you and your family are in our prayers at this difficult time. It was such an honor to have known Ms. Chris. She took care of our kids for the last 5 years and they grew to love her. She always was smiling and became such a great part-time mom / teacher to the kids while at Kindercare.
She will trully be missed.

To The Family of my friend fondly known to me as Sgt. Mac. We were together for a long time at Carswell AFB while in the military. WOW. What a wonderful woman that God has called her home. We got back in touch with each other over a year ago at the VA and she never complained about anything. Still the same Sgt. Mac to me. I will miss her very much. You all are in my families prayers and thoughts, keep your heads up, she's healed now.

I am very blessed to be able to get to know Mrs. Chris, she was my daughter's teacher at Kindercare. Mrs. Chris loved and cared for my daughter as if it was her own always concerned with her, and help her potty train. As soon as A'liyah seen Mrs. Chris picture on here she was sooo happy to see her. To the family of Mrs. Chris my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know that the pain and suffering is over for her now and she is in a better place smileing down on everyone.

My heart is heavy right now, at the passing of this wonderful, God-fearing woman. Mrs. Chris, as she's known to all of Kindercare, is the epitomy of a great, loving, friend, mother, teacher, godmother, aunt, whatever she was. She gave back relentlessly, always had a smile on her face and was always ready to go. However, I can rejoice today knowing that she' s in better place. My mother, Alicia, and I searched relentlessly for a song that Mrs. Chris wanted to hear when she was in the hospital. "God Favored Me" by Hezekiah Walker. Truly God showed us favor, by allowing this wonderful woman to touch our lives. To her family you were blessed with a strong, jovial, angel. Remember that, Everyone she encountered loved her deeply and we will be praying for you all.
