Clinton was a wonderful man. He and my husband, Buster, worked together and he became somewhat of a mentor for Buster. I always enjoyed talking to him when he would call Buster about a job. Buster and I just found out about his death and are so sorry we were unable to attend his funeral and express our sympathy to his family. He made a lasting impression on both of us.

I've enjoyed reading the entries of those who knew my Uncle Clinton. One of the things I loved about him was that he never met a stranger, and everyone he met was special to him. I am grateful for the memories I have of him, both on his trips to his birthplace in Virginia and of our trips to his home in Texas. I am especially grateful to those of you who became his friends and were there over the last few years when we could not be. As I heard someone say at the funeral this past week, Clinton was larger than life. I remember him laughing more than anything. He was a good man, and I love all his family in Texas, too.

I will never forget the first time - over 30 years ago - that I met Clinton with his gentle smile, his beautiful grey hair and he was dressed so handsomely in a pin stripe suit. We shared many, many (and yet too few) moments of poignant conversation through the years and I appreciated his wisdom and desire to be helpful. I admired Clinton's Godly heart and his love and compassion for so many. My love to Danny, Gloria and the family. There are just too few Clinton Wrights in this world and we will all miss him.

My life has been greatly enriched by knowing and working with Clinton. He always had a kind word and concern for others. I enjoyed our visits as we talked of his growing up in Virginia and his time in the Merchant Marines during WW2. Clinton was an infinite source of knowledge on where and how to get things done. He will be greatly missed.
Knowing Clinton, he will be working on the hinges of the pearly gates today to make them work better.

Pop, you were our spiritual daddy and the best friend Billy has ever had! For thirty years we have loved our weekly card games, dinners, your tales of growing up in Virginia and just spending time with you and mom. Our hearts break to not be there with you now Gloria!
