Correne Driskill

1917 - 2004

Correne Driskill, 86, a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully from this life Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Her family at home lovingly surrounded her.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at Bridgewood Church of Christ. Burial: Parker Memorial Cemetery, Grapevine. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel.

Memorials: If desired, memorials may be made to Christ's Haven, Keller.

Correne Driskill was born Feb. 14, 1917, in Murfreesboro, Ark., to Alvie and Edith Sparks. She moved to Texas in 1924, where she met Ross Driskill in 1934. They were married March 27, 1937. They were actively involved in church activities throughout their married life. They attended Polytechnic Church of Christ for 25 years and were charter members at Bridgewood Church of Christ for the last 35 years.

Correne retired from Montgomery Ward in 1981 after 21 years. She has joyfully served as a nursery attendant for over 15 years at Bridgewood Church of Christ.

The family wishes to thank Vitas Hospice for the devoted care given to our precious one.

Correne was preceded in death by her father, mother and three brothers.

Survivors: Devoted husband of 66 years, Ross Driskill of Fort Worth; sisters, Charlene Rayburn of Arlington, Winifred Boshers of Fort Worth; daughter, Gloria Wallace and husband, Bob of Fort Worth; son, Philip Driskill and wife, Cindy of Alva, Okla.; granddaughters, Amy Lee Trader of Southlake, Dara Driskill Tinius of Edmond, Okla., Lindsay Driskill of Edmond, Okla.; grandson, Ryan Driskill of Alva, Okla.; great-grandchildren, Chandler and Cole Trader of Southlake; several nieces and nephews.
