L.A. David Edgeworth THE COLONY--L.A. David Edgeworth, a physician, died Thursday, June 21, 2018, after a battle with leukemia. After organ donations, he donated his body to the University of North Texas Health Science Center, and has requested that no formal memorial service be held in his honor, but rather that you toast him with a moment of reflection, silence, and a sip of your favorite beverage. MEMORIALS: Remembrances may be made in the form of donations to Trinity College, University of Toronto. David was known for his intelligence, command of the English language, and ability to usually reduce problems to their basics and then decide a workable course of management. A native of southern Ontario, David moved to Texas in 1976. He enjoyed obstetrics, and his practice included about 2,500 deliveries. He was certified by the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians and a Fellow of the College of Correctional Health Physicians. In the last years of medical practices, he was the medical director of the Tarrant County Jail and effected large and lasting revisions of the efficiency and quality of care. In retirement David was active with the Loners on Wheels organization serving in several officer roles. He became a United States citizen in January 2004. SURVIVORS: David is survived by his sister, Nancy; brother, John; his children, Christopher, Maura, Julie, and Bradley; and 12 grandchildren.
