Funeral: 9 a.m. Thursday at Forest Ridge Funeral Home, 705 Airport Freeway in Hurst. Burial: D/FW National Cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
David was born July 8, 1948, in Mount Pleasant, Pa. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam with the First Calvary Division of the U.S. Army.
Survivors: wife, Gerrie Kunkle; daughters, Kelly Kunkle, Robin Atherton and husband Shane, Katie Kunkle, and Jody Blackstone and her husband Scott; mother, Evelyn Kunkle; brothers, Raymond Kunkle and Chuck Kunkle; sisters, Darlene Bitner, Carol Yurko, Cathy Biller Barbara Kunkle, and Debbie Kunkle; grandmother, Maude Simpson and one grandson, William David Scruggs.

Jerri, Kelly,Robin,and Katy,Your Dad was a true friend. I will miss the calls I would make to him. I would say (what's going on?) he would say I am sitting here counting my money.Then we talked about GOD and family.Girls you are in our Prayers.I will see Dave again.

Daddy all your girls miss and love you so much!! You were and always will be - an amazing husband to mom and the best daddy all of us girls could ever pray for.
