If tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again
No Farewell words were spoken
No time to say good-bye
You were gone before I knew it
And only God knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.
But now I know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.
Since you'll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you'll always stay.

Dave will certainly be missed. I was always glad to find out Dave and I were playing golf together. Whether playing good or bad (most of the time good) Dave was a pleasure to be around. I will alway remember his sense of humor, the pride he took in his family and the loving way he always spoke of his wife. I played with Dave on December 22, he had a very good day and was so excited about his new cart and grateful to Billie for finding it for him.
I know Dave is in a better place now and will be missed greatly by many, but from every indication I could see, Dave died a very happy man. I couldn't wish for anything better for anyone.

Dave and I met many years ago in Wellington KS, our mothers both worked at the old Hatcher Hospital and we went to Jr-Sr High in Wellington together. We never had much contact with each other except at our class reunions. He was a great guy and fun to be around, he will always be remembered by me. BJ and family, you are in our prayers and thoughts in these times of sorrow.

I had a great time playing golf with Dave. His outlook on life is something I will always remember. I will miss seeing him on the first tee; however I am sure he is enjoying the golf course above.

Dave and I were buddies at Wellington High School, and I was so happy to see him again at our big reunions. He was a terrific person--funny, smart, kind--and I am saddened by his death. My sincere sympathies to all of his family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Lancaster family and their friends during this time of celebrating the life Dave shared with us all. I'm sure he's dancing in the streets of heaven and smiling down on us all while we reflect on the life he lived here on earth.
Though the days to come will be difficult and the hole his loss has created in your hearts seem more than you can endure, we pray that you are able to find strength and comfort in our Lord knowing that Dave is in a much better place. 1st Corinthians chapter 1; "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." May the tears you shed be tears of the joyous times shared with Dave. We are all God's children and our days are recorded in the book of life.
Because our days are numbered and we do not know when it's our last, hug those close to you and tell them how much you love them, forgive those who may have committed wrong doing against you and ask forgiveness from those of your wrong doing.
We'll miss you Dave and look forward to seeing you in the here after.
BJ, we look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.
With our Love and prayers,
Bill & Joy Williams

Wow... this is one I didn't see coming! Not be be flip or anything resembling disrespectful, but BOY, I just guess I thought Dave would live forever, or at least past my lifetime. And during my lifetime, he proved to be nothing but a friend and quite a good friend and support team member to me.
To the family, even though I had not seen or spoke with him in years, my heart has never been far from him... and in my heart, I have to believe he knew that, especially you, BJ.
Please all of you know that my thoughts and prayers and good hopes for your futures are with you all today and forever, Darren, Kelly, Mark, Mike and Missy.

I will miss Dave every time I stand on the first tee. His sense of humor, even early in the morning was something I enjoyed. We often discussed our similar heart conditions, and I appreciated his advice. Mostly, I enjoyed the fact that when Dave and I were partners, we usually won the money. I thought of us as friends. Thanks for all of it, Dave.

Thank you for being my father. Thank you for the rides in the jeep through the desert as a little kid and showing me that peanuts taste good inside a coke bottle. Thank you for showing me the mountains and besides the obvious of "wow they are big" you showed me how to go over them. Thank you for teaching me that White Sands New Mexico is not a big sugar bowl. Thank you for teaching me not to get "wrapped around the axle" over the small stuff. Thank you for becoming more of a friend to me over the years instead of just having the title "Dad". Thank you for the golf with your friends and their friends. Thank you for pulling me out of the Cactus when I fell in head first as a toddler. Thank you for taking all the stress I have caused you in your life and the space you still had in your heart to still accept me. Thank you for so many things you gave to me. Thank you for my life. I miss you very much and can't believe you are gone...Love Mark.
