David Logan Obituary
December 4, 1938 - September 19, 2023
Aledo, Texas - David Malcom Logan died after a long illness on September 19th, 2023 at the age of 84. He died peacefully at home with his wife Diana and three of his five children present. The son of William Malcom Logan and Charlene Millard Logan, David was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He and his parents returned to Texas on the Queen Mary when he was less than a year old. He was the eldest of the family, with 4 younger siblings. After graduating from Austin High School in 1957, he attended University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a BA in arts and humanities in 1961. He went on to graduate with a medical degree from UTMB in Galveston, TX in 1965. He completed an internal medicine residency at Parkland Hospital in Dallas in 1971.
The most satisfying time in David's medical career was when he served in Indian Health Service on the Tohono O'odham reservation in southern Arizona.
David loved the time he spent with his family, especially on trips to Colorado with all five children when they were young. He enjoyed hiking, reading history books, and his music tastes ranged from country and western to opera.
He is survived by his wife Diana to whom he has been married for 45 years, and five children(Victoria, Douglas, Courtney,Annie-Laurie, and Zachary). He has eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents (William and Charlene), two brothers (Malcom and Timothy) and a baby daughter, (Stephanie Lynn). His sister Heather and brother Barrie live in Austin.
A private family memorial service will occur in Clark Gardens in late October. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Central Texas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association or to Beyond Faith Hospice in Weatherford, TX.
