Dennis Conrad Obituary

Dennis Michael Conrad

January 11, 1956 - August 11, 2025

Round Rock, Texas - Dennis M. Conrad, 69, passed away on August 11, 2025.

Dennis Michael Conrad was born in Kankakee, Illinois on January 11, 1956 to Everett and Geraldine Conrad, and he grew up in the village of Ashkum with his older brother Steve and older sister Kathy. He was close with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, and he long remembered the games, summer jobs, and family events of his childhood. Dennis graduated from Central High School in Clifton, Illinois in 1974.

Moving to Texas for his education, Dennis graduated from Texas Christian University in 1978. He earned a law degree from Baylor University in 1981. He married Cindy Storey on August 11, 1979 in Irving, Texas, and after law school they moved to Fort Worth where Dennis began practicing law. They welcomed their first child, David, in 1984, and their second, Brie, in 1988. Taking care of his family was Dennis's first priority, and his children have many memories of games, conversations, road trips, and homework sessions with Dad.

Dennis loved his sports teams. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, an avid follower of the Dallas Stars, and for many years he and Cindy had season tickets to TCU football. One of his favorite memories was going to Pasadena in 2011 to watch TCU win the Rose Bowl. Dennis also loved reading, especially history and presidential biographies, and in 2008 he went back to school for a Masters degree in History. His impressive collection of baseball cards is, appropriately, footnoted.

Dennis retired in 2016, and he and Cindy soon moved to the Austin area to be near their grandchildren. He passed away from complications of Lewy body dementia on his and Cindy's 46th wedding anniversary. Dennis is survived by Cindy, son David (Kathryn), daughter Brie, grandchildren Alden and Vivian, brother Steve, sister-in-law Deborah Simmons, brother-in-law Garry Lanoue, and nieces and nephew Melinda (Ryan) Busby, Laura (Mike) Harre, and Brent (Christi) Lanoue. He is pre-deceased by his parents, in-laws Jim and Faye Storey, sister Kathy Lanoue, sister-in-law Bobbie Conrad, brother-in-law David Simmons, and nephew Dylan Simmons.

There will be a memorial gathering at Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Dr. in Georgetown, Texas on Saturday, September 6 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at lbda.org.

I enjoyed talking to him every time I ran into him. His sister Kathy was the same. Kind, funny, and goodhearted.

Dennis and his firm and mc carrington and i from our firm worked with Dennis for almost 20 years. He was a delightful person and very funny as well as very smart. It was a pleasure to know him and work with him. Am sorry for his early passing and certainly sorry for the illness he had. Certainly sympathies to his family. Sandra clark
