Diana Kay Finley Simons

Corsicana, Texas - Diana Kay Finley Simons, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 17, 2023.

Visitation: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday prior to service. Funeral Service: 12:00 p.m. Thursday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: 4:00 p.m., Thursday at Oakland Memorial Cemetery, 1000 West Moore Avenue Terrell Texas, 75160.

Diana was born August 27, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to Samuel Brantley and Helen Marie Finley. She attended grade school through high school in Dallas. After graduating from Sunset High School, she attended the University of North Texas.

In September 1988, Diana married the love of her life, Jim Simons.

Diana was a talented organist and pianist. She shared her talent with others by playing for her church, many weddings and her children's grade school programs. Diana was a highly skilled self-taught cook and baker. She was also the best band mom, soccer mom, and dance mom to her two sons and daughter.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, baking with them, and spoiling them. Her greatest joy was her family. Diana was a woman of faith and guided in life by her deep unwavering love for God and His Son Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel B. and Helen Finley; her husband, Jim; sister, Margaret Harber.

She is survived by her sister, Betty Bowen; sons, Brant Pate and wife, Laura, Tim Pate and wife, Susan; daughter, Shannon Walthall and husband, Jason; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.

Diana was loved deeply, will be missed greatly, and will remain in our hearts always.
