Dickie Carr Obituary

Dickie Carr, 71, an owner and operator of Dickie Carr Paving, Inc. and Dickie Carr Sand and Gravel, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Greenwood Chapel. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Pallbearers, J.D. Johnson, Don Moore, John Ed Robbins, John Guinn, Holly Rowney and Charlie Underwood. Honarary pallbearers, James Leggett, Lewis Hanson, Dale Carson, Dr. Walter Geyer, Bill Seagraves, and Tim Curry. Dickie Carr was born Jan. 25, 1930 in Strong City, Okla. He was a former city councilman for more than 10 years in Samson Park. He was owner and operator of Dickie Carr Paving, Inc. and of Dickie Carr Sand and Gravel of Fort Worth. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his mother, Madge; father, Nyle; brother, Spooky Carr; and sisters, Grace Clarkson and Mary Bob Grimsley. Survivors: Wife of 51 years, Ada Carr; children, Richard Carr and wife, Pat, Cathy Camp and husband, Dale, and Tommy Carr, all of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Tonia Carr, Bubba Kolb, Jaclyn Carr, Jessica Gilbreth, Amanda Kolb, Melissa Carr, Dickie Dean Carr, Candice Carr, Travis Camp and Tori Carr; great-grandchild, Maddison Kolb; sisters, Maxine Morrow and Sally Yorgus, both of Houston; brother, Joe Tom Carr of Fort Worth; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
