Doris Ann was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Fort Worth and was proud to say she was a lifelong resident of Fort Worth. Her father and mother, Gus C. and Laura A. Cooley, owned and operated the Cooley Lumber Company on East Lancaster in Fort Worth. She met "the love of her life," William C. "Bill" Null, at the lumber company where he was employed. Doris' passion was her family and her greatest joy was creating special memories with them. She was known to light up a room with her warm, loving spirit and was quick to give hugs and sweet words of encouragement to those around her. She enjoyed traveling the world, visiting friends, family and church socials, bringing her famous chocolate ice box pie and playing bridge with the Tuesday Sunparlor Ladies at the Fort Worth Woman's Club. Doris was a faithful Christian and a longtime member of the Southside Church of Christ and The Hills Church in North Richland Hills. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and son, Gary. Survivors: Her daughter, Cathy Mayberry and husband, Charles; granddaughter, Laura Bacigalupo and husband, Peter; grandson, William Mayberry; and extended family members.

The family will not remember me, but I remember Doris and Bill ... especially Bill who worked side beside me in a telethon drive in behalf of Fort Worth Christian School many years ago, working from a bank building in downtown Fort Worth. We have the promise that our "labors are not in vain in the Lord!" What a wonderful assurance. I am praying for all the family in this time of loss.

Dearest Cathy & family,
Just wanted to let you know that you all have been on our hearts and minds these past few days. We will keep you in our prayers -- that each of you will be able remember the wonderful family times and as time goes by -- able to remember your Mom's love for you throughout her life. I remember the last time I saw her was at Joe and Marilyn's Holiday Open House last December. Over the years, we've been together with your family many many times -- during the good times as well as the sad ones. Stay connected with family... love and cherish each other as you did your mom.
We feel blessed to have known your parents.

Cathy, I am so very sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Remember me? The blonde that was at Claire Bridge (Sheila). I love your Mom so much and have missed not getting to see her. She always loved her outings with you and always said how blessed she was to have a daughter like you. Your Mom what a classy, beautiful woman. I worked the 2 to 10 shift so I was with her in the evenings and loved how she would come down the hall with her walker and ask for coffee and just a snack. She just needed a small snack. We had the same type hair bands which we thought was fun. She was always full of kind words and made me feel important in her day. Cathy the love she has for you goes beyond any words to be found. She is one lucky lady to have youfor her daughter. I know you will miss her sooo very much, but I know your Dad and brother are so very glad to see her. I hope you will keep the night light I gave her. I wish I had known her longer but I am forever grateful I met her and had the short time I did with her. I have to work Tuesday and wont be able to come, but know I am there in thought. Love and best wishes to you and your family. Sheila
