Doris Jane Pinson HURST -- Doris passed from this life on the morning of August 21, 2018 into the loving arms of Jesus and into the fellowship of many loved ones who have gone on before her, chief of whom is her beloved husband Melvis. FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday at the Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Interment will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lucas Funeral Home. Doris Jane McWherter Pinson was born on October 12, 1928 in Corsicana, Texas to Clifford Lee and Florene McWherter. She was the oldest of three children. Doris was a devoted wife of almost 66 years and wonderful mother and grandmother. Her life was centered on God and family and she was fiercely devoted to them both. She had the gift of hospitality and was a wonderful cook. She loved to serve and was a great example to friends and family. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Melvis Pinson, by her parents and by one brother, Baun L McWherter. SURVIVORS: She is survived by one brother, Clifton Lee McWherter; her three children, Beverly Stanford and husband, Carl Stanford, Jane Baker and husband, Rand Baker and Ray Pinson and wife, Kathy Pinson along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
