Texhoma, Texas - Dwain Roland Scott, 79, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2021 at his home in Texhoma, Texas. Dwain was born on February 17, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Pierce and Ada Lou Scott. He grew up in Fort Worth and attended Carter Riverside High School where he was captain of the football team and his father was a coach. He went on to play college football at Tyler Junior College and then East Texas State.
Dwain lived in the mountains of Colorado and New Mexico, and in the plains of Oklahoma and Texas. He had an adventurous spirit and a passion for traveling, snow skiing, motorcycling, ranching and operating his own businesses.
Dwain was preceded in death by his loving wife Patsy and stepson Robert, and his sister Sandra. He is survived by his daughter, Stacie Harvison Woodcock and husband Doug, granddaughters Alexandra and Abigail Woodcock, stepchildren Penny Lancaster, Kathy Caudle and Bobbie Klingle Smith and their families, brother Tom Scott and wife Kriss, and nephew Evan Scott.

His grandchildren , Page and Piper Kingsland, Chris , Maggie , Sarah and Jessica Caudle and Seben Costner and Mike Klingelsmith , and several great grandchildren . He might have been our blood grandfather but he was none the less our grandfather . He´s the only grandfather any of me and my cousins knew . We loved him and I for one did call him grandpa .. sorry that anyone has ever not seen that we thought of Scotty , Our Grandpa as such ...
Grandpa I miss you and grandma ( Nana) so much thank you for being there for Samantha and I ... I will never forget your help. I love you grandpa ....

When we were kids visiting Nana and grandpa when they lived in Goodwell, my dad and grandpa went out for a drink and didn´t come into until the next morning and they story is that Nan´s made my dad and grandpa green eggs and ham. I guess they were both still pretty lit and never noticed . I was like 4 years old . I loved going to visit them. And when they´d come to see us in Tucson . He might have been biologically my grandfather but he was the only grandpa I ever knew . And I was very upset and sad to hear about him passing . Most of us grandkids didn´t call him Scotty , we called him grandpa cause that´s who he was to me and my cousins . He will be missed .
