Fort Worth, Texas - Edward "Eddie" K Corley passed away July 7, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas at 80 years old with his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Corley, at his side.
Eddie was born in Vernon, Texas on June 8, 1942 to parents Alvin Henry Corley and Jeanetta Lois (Hayes) Corley. While Eddie was still very young the family moved to Fort Worth, where Eddie graduated from Diamond Hill-Jarvis HS in 1960. Education was always a strong priority for Eddie, being the first of his immediate family to graduate high school and attend college. He passed this emphasis for education on to his children and grandchildren and he demonstrated a willingness to continue learning throughout his life by working to grasp newer technology such as computers and smart phones.
Eddie worked a variety of jobs before joining the Fort Worth Fire Department where he spent the next 30+ years working his way through the ranks to retire with as a Lieutenant in 1997. Known to family, friends, and colleagues for his great sense of humor, jokes, pranks as well as his willingness to lend a hand whenever asked, he was well liked by all who met him. Eddie was a long-time member of the Boyd Church of Christ. Eddie and Linda have lived in Wise County near Boyd for 32 years.
Eddie married the great love of his life, Linda, in 1973 and brought together a blended family that quickly grew close. The couple continued to show their deep love through all the years, setting examples that their children, grandchildren, and other family members could admire and follow. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Carol Ann Vu. Eddie is survived by his wife Linda Gail Corley; son Timothy Corley and wife Janet Laughlin; son Daniel Givens and wife Angela Givens; and grandchildren Aaron Vu, Eliza Vu, Zachary Vu, Ulyana Vu, Conner Givens, Katherine Babcock, Barbara Markarian and husband Ara, and great-granddaughter Sawyer.
Visitation is set for Thursday July 14 6-8pm at Mt Olivet Funeral Home with funeral services set for noon Friday July 15 at the same location. Mt Olivet is located at 2301 North Sylvania, Fort Worth, Texas, 76111.
