Elizabeth Zaner Haverty, 62, of Krum passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Friday at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Reining Horse Association, in care of Reining Horse Sports Foundation, 3000 NW 10th St., Oklahoma City, Okla. 73107-5302, or at [email protected]. She was born Feb. 14, 1951, in Fort Worth and raised by J. Frank Zaner and Gloria Zaner. She and her husband of 37 years, Clint Haverty, owned and operated Haverty Ranch in Krum for 34 years where they raised many world champions in various breeds and NRHA champions. She was a member of the National Reining Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, American Paint Horse Association and the Appaloosa Horse Club. She was a multiple world champion in equine events. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors: Husband, Clint; son, Zane Haverty and wife, Shevin; and brothers, Randy, Buddy and Mike Zaner.
