As a preteen and early teenager, Mrs. B was our Girl Scout troop leader. We had a lot of fun going camping at Camp Timberlake, and even in Mildred Rydell's back yard. I have no idea how Mrs. B talked my mom in to spending the night at the Rydell's. We played tricks on them. That was part of camping out. We learned a lot of skills that would later take Mrs. B's daughter Barbara and I to the Girl Scout Roundup in Idaho in 1965. Mrs. B was stern at times, but also a lot of fun. She was a smart lady. She was like a second mother to me. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
