Dear Duran family, I sold Mr. Duran a white Nissan when he was at Esystems. He was such a wonderful guy that he made such an impression... You know how long ago that was but his impression has lasted all these years...

I would like to thank everyone for their loving thoughts, cards, and flowers. Ernest was a very wonderful person, he was my life. We were high school sweethearts. I am so thankful we were together. He was a devoted father, grandfather, husband, and Christian. Ernest made me laugh, love, care, and cry. He taught me the meaning of honest true love, what it meant to care deeply in one's heart, and he showed his often. Even in high school, he would bring me flowers from his mother's plants.

He cared about others. He wanted to do so much for others, but his illness didn't allow it. He took people at their word, because that was the way he was -- his word was true.

He was so smart, he amazed me. He thought things out to the smallest detail. Naturally, I didn't always take his advice because I wanted to do it my way, which sometimes didn't work out very well. He would tell me "I told you so" and "But noooo, you had to do it your way." Looking back, I realize that kept things exciting.

People that knew Ernest knew he had an unusual sense of humor. He kept everyone around him laughing. I will miss him so very much. He was mine, and it was so hard and too soon to let him go. But I know he can breathe well now and do anything he wants, free of medicines, oxygen machines, and worries. He is looking down on us, watching over us. We will always love him, remember him, and keep him in our hearts.

Brenda, Danny & Micah,

My thoughts and prayers are with you! I know there is nothing I can say that will ease your pain, but I promise--it does get easier. There will come a day when you'll think of your daddy and you will smile and remember all the wonderful memories and be thankful God let us borrow him for such a short time.

I love you all!

In behalf of the Fort Worth Cursillo community and myself personally, I pray that our brother Ernest will be in the loving arms of Jesus for eternity. I was honored to be his neighbor, fellow parishoner and coworker, and I know that he was a man willing to give a lot of himself to his community.

We pray that his family and loved ones be comforted by the mercy, grace, peace and love of our dear Lord.

Brenda and Family,

We are so sorry to hear of Ernest passing. It is so hard to believe, but we remember the good times at your house with him playing his guitar, hitting the pineta, and with him telling his childhood stories with a few current ones thrown in and I am sure they were all true.

We will miss him and be praying for your family.

Dear Duran Family,

I am so sorry to hear about Ernest's passing. I pray that the Lord give you the peace that passes all understanding. It was such a blessing to have known Ernest, even if it was for a short while. I remember the first conversation I had with Ernest; it was at a Hispanic function here at Lockheed. We talk about our parents and the hard work they did growing up. He spoke about his family with so much pride. He was a wise and humble man and he will be greatly missed.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
