Ernest Garcia Obituary

Ernest P. "Neto" Garcia, 79, a retired small businessman, fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2003, at a local hospital.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at All Saints Catholic Church. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rosary: 5 p.m. Sunday in Mount Olivet Chapel.

Ernesto "Neto" Garcia was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Fort Worth. He was recognized for his devotion through services in the Mexican-American community, by contributing time and resources to the community by actively participating in various civic, youth, church and political organizations.

Neto was preceded in death by his parents, Leopoldo and Julia Garcia; brothers, F.J. and Marcelino Garcia; and sister, Beatrice Garcia Zamaripa. He was a wonderful uncle, a great cook and a good friend to all who met him.

Survivors: Brother, Eulalio "Lalo" Garcia and wife, Amparo; sisters, Teresa Garcia, Vicenta Zamarripa and husband, Richard, and Cecilia Ruiz-Moreno and husband, Leo; sister-in-law, Pauline B. Garcia, all of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces and nephews who loved and respected him.

I wanted to send my condolences to the Garcia family.When I left from Fort Worth I remember him always smiling and he was a good hearted person.I know he is in a better place now looking over all of us.Love and prayers from the Joliet Family.
