My most sincere and deepest heartfelt sympathies and condolences go out to Frank’s family. Frank and I started the first grade together, we lived two blocks apart in the Northside, and we’ve been good friends ever since, including the last 34 years at General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin. It is truly a blessing, never to be forgotten, to have had lunch with Frank, just the week before his passing. May God bless and comfort you and your families in your time of need. Rest in peace, my brother, you will be missed.

When a loved one passes there is so little others can do to ease the pain of that loss, the void in the days to come. Still those who care about you, friends and loved ones want to comfort and so I come as a friend to say I am so sorry, yet do not say I know how you feel, for that is personal.

I have had the privilege to know and work with Frank for the past several years at Lockheed. His love for his family, which he proudly talked about every chance he had, and his Texas Longhorns always led to interesting conversations regarding my Nebraska Cornhuskers. Even though he is gone in the physical sense, his spirit and presence will never leave. I ask that the spirit if the Almighty One that comforted David in the Psalms comfort you in this time of hardship. Frank will be missed but definately not forgotten!

With heartfelt thoughts and prayers, I extend my condolences to all the members of Frank’s family. While we may not have met in person, Frank easily shared many of his family moments - of which he was most proud. Through these small glimpses, you could see a man that was a proud father and loving husband. In reminiscing over the 30+ years that I’ve known Frank, there have been many fond memories forged through our working relationship, personal discussions, verbal jousts, and rooster-like banterings. While I’m sadden by Frank’s passing, in some mystical way each and every encounter that I recall ends up putting a smile on my face and makes me thankful for knowing him. Frank’s presence and spirit added a splash of color to the many lives he touched while working at General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin. I truly enjoyed working with him and will always cherish the memories.

Debbie and family,
My heart drop and sadded when I heard those words by a phone call came to me this past Saturday. Frank and I were good friends at work. He would always help when I was in need from Tool Services or just wanting know how to feel out paperwork properly here at work. I will miss those conversion about how he loved those tamales that my mom would make a few years ago. Yes I grew up knowing the Barnes Family for many years. We were neighbores being raised in the North Side on 25th street. We use to say when we talk about the block that he would get those " Loco Vatos" on me if i didn't straight up. Debbie I am so sorry for your lost and I also will miss his friendship. May the Lord be with you in your time in need and also the rest of the family.

August 17, 2010

Debbie,
I am Patricia, one of Franklin's East Texas cousins. Our Mothers were sisters. I believe you met my brothers, Wayne & Anthony Montes, and my sister, Gayle Rice, at Alice's funeral last year.
I was very sorry and saddened to hear about Frank's death. He was fun to spend time with, and I have many memories of good times spent with him when we were all growing up & would visit our grandparents in Nacogdoches, and also when I would travel to Ft. Worth as a young adult to visit his family and other relatives in the 1960's. Last time I talked with him at my Dad's funeral in Lufkin in 2001, I was happy to see him and glad to see he was the same enjoyable, good-natured, and good-humored adult that I remembered from our childhood.
Please accept mine and my husband's sincere sympathy, and may God bless and comfort you and your family as you adjust to life without Frank. I know you'll miss him more than words can say.
