Betty,
Even though we did not talk often, I always knew that you guys were there if I needed you. Gavin gently guided me through the darkest period of my life when my first husband died. He saw in me the person I am now, but only due to his persistance, insight, trust, and sense of humor did reach what he always had known. Words cannot express what Gavin was to me and how I will miss him. I find comfort knowing that I will use what he taught me to keep his memory and legacy alive through myself and through those I teach. Gavin was one of a kind. Those who knew him will continually be blessed with his memories, for he , will continue on in our hearts and our actions. I pray that Betty and his family will be comforted with the thought that Gavin will will never be forgotten because he continues to impact lives daily with his knowledge, compassion and smile he so freely gave to those who were his friends, for they will carry it in thier hearts.

Gavin was one of a kind, the good kind.
He was a good ole boy and thanks to him, my brother Chuck had a big brother and best friend. His family is proud of everything he stood for I'm sure.

My condolences to Junior's family. I
knew Gavin as Junior, on the Sewell side of the family. Junior visited with my family one summer, he may have been in high school @ that time. He was a track star in those days. I spent many holidays with Junior, Linda, Judy and all my cousins, and thankful our folks made the effort. My younger brother Mark & I looked up to Gavin. Junior was a great guy and I am proud to call him my cousin. Isn't it a shame we don't take the time to stay in touch with those we care about!
