George W. Hicks GRANBURY--George W. Hicks, 91, of Granbury passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in Granbury. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Forest Ridge Memorial Park Chapel. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Alz.org. George was born Dec. 21, 1925, to Velva and Ada Mae Hicks in Fredricktown, Mo. George lived with his family in Hurst for 55 years, worked as a corporate pilot for 40 years, and served as an ordained Baptist deacon for 55 years. George was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Naomi Hann. SURVIVORS: Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Jean Hicks of Granbury; sons, Gerry Hicks and his wife, Debbie, of Granbury, David Hicks and his wife, Susan, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., and Stephen Hicks and his wife, Andrea, of Arlington; grandchildren, Kyle, Amanda, Gregg, and Casey; and great-grandchild, Hadley.
