Uncle Son had such a wonderful sense of humor. He always had a way to bring humor into any situation. He enjoyed life and helped others do the same! What a blessing to have him in our life for all these years! Our loss is heaven's gain! He will be greatly missed by all of us and I know my mom and dad (Joe and Cleta) will miss him greatly as they loved him dearly!

O, George.. I have mourned you every day since you joined our Heavenly Father. What a blessing it is to have been able to share my life with you and all the stories & memories we made together. You accepted me into your life without any hesitation and showed me a very pure & unconditional love. Regardless of what I was going through, your smile and hearty laugh brought joy into my heart. I know I will always be in your heart & you will forever be in mine. I love you and I miss you..

Mary, Bless your sweet heart. I am so proud that I attended your Dad's Birthday Party. It was great seeing him and fun to talk "old times". He and Joe are the only people I know that have known me all of my life.
Love,

Buried a hero today
90 years and some change
I wanna take this time
Tell ya’ why he’s a hero of mine
He never kicked a dog even when he was down
Instead he’d lift you up just like a circus clown…
Buried a hero today
Ah, but where to begin
A third of his life for his countrymen
World War 2, Korea, Vietnam
Quite a stretch for any man
A good Mason, husband, father, granddad
I’m so grateful for the times we had…
Buried a hero today
Then he came home for good
Spoiled his wife any way he could
Took a 2nd career
Lasted the next 10 years
He’d take me with him when I was out of school
Going to work with granddad, that was cool…
Buried a hero today
After work, we’d wrestle in the yard
Weekends and camping, yeah the times was hard
Trim ceramics, load the kiln,
Work the garden, and mash ant hills
Sulphur Springs with Nonna was a 6 hour trip
Stopping at every Stuckey’s, yet he gave her no lip…
Buried a hero today
In ’85 he’d retire
Rest his bones by the fire
He’d worked all his days
Time to go and play
Right before he did it, cancer took his wife
You could tell it really crushed his life…
Buried a hero today
Life had treated him cruel
But he weren’t no fool
Lived for his family
Worked on his ancestry
Helping people any way he could
Just like any humble saint would…
Buried a hero today
Cancer tried to get him
He shook it off with a grin
Lost a brother and sis
A mean ol’ world this is
His back gave out, but he never gave up
Always saw life as the half-full cup…
Buried a hero today
Lost one of his two daughters
It really rattled his world
Crying from time to time
He never lost his mind
We shared his wisdom about love, life, and loss
Those are the times I’ll miss most…
Buried my hero today.
