I met Gerry and her friend, Esteline, over 20 years ago on a baseball bus trip across the country. What a delightful lady Gerry was. She, Esteline and I liked to compare our baseball memorabilia acquisitions. A few years later, and after yet another baseball bus trip together, Gerry and Esteline visited me in Redmond, WA and we took in a Mariners game together. I'm sorry to learn of Gerry's passing. I will always treasure my good memories of her. My condolences to her family. Charles Kapner Redmond, WA

Kathy, Lou Ann and family. I was so sad to hear of Ms. (Gerry) Bartons passing. What a wonderful long life she was blessed with. I have fond memories of her and my mom, Modell, sewing for all us girls. Mrs. Barton made all our Jr. High cheerleading outfits for us. She just never changed over the years. Had the sweetest smile all the time, even in recent pics I have seen on Facebook. God bless you all and I'm sending you my love and a big hug!

I had the fortune of having Thompson bookstore on my mail route in the 70s 80s and 90s, first on Throckmorton then on Houston St.It was always such a pleasure to see Gerry almost everyday. And I mean for years.I would give her the mail and buy a candy bar everyday. We would always talk about just about anything especially Ranger baseball. She had such a passion for the Rangers,I dont remember everything we talked about but I do remember her talking about her singer daughter Lou Ann a lot. And the rest of her family. Bless your family and Bless you Gerry, I have never forgotten about you after all these years. You were the best.

Kathy & family, I am so sad to hear about you precious mom. She was always so kind to me when I was at you house when we were in high school. And, many years later, what a pleasant surprise when I began to see her at Ranger games. She was a very special lady, so full of joy. I know you will miss her. Thanks so much for sharing pictures of her on Facebook. I am praying for peace and comfort for you and your family. Love you my friend, Carol Christy Shaw
