Gregory Jopling Obituary

Gregory Charles Jopling
October 4, 1959 - January 23, 2022
Aledo, Texas - Gregory Charles Jopling entered his Heavenly home on Sunday morning, January 23. He was 62.
Family and friends will gather from 5 to 7 pm Monday in the Great Room at Robertson Mueller Harper. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, March 5, at The Lodge at the Orchard, 808 Greg Street, Azle.
Born in Dallas, Greg was the son of Charles Roy and Sharon Books Jopling. He was a 1978 graduate of Berkner High School in Richardson and attended and enjoyed his time at the University of North Texas. Greg worked as a Claim Representative at State Farm Insurance Company, where he retired from after 35 years of faithful service.
Greg enjoyed going to the Railhead Smokehouse in Aledo to visit with his friends who he played Fantasy Football and solved the world's problems with over a few drinks. His competitive nature inspired and drove those around him to strive to put their best efforts forward, even when the circumstances were difficult.
He was also a lover of music, especially when it came to discussing records with his son, Ben. Greg had an inseparable bond with his pets, who will miss the quiet hours that he would spend holding them every day. He had a wonderful marriage to his wife, Denise, to whom he was married for over 29 years and was proud of their son, Ben.
Greg had a tenacious spirit about him and always loved to make others laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Roy Jopling, and grandparents, Edmund and Colene Jopling and Ralph and Gracietta Books.
In addition to his mother Sharon Jopling, Greg is survived by his loving wife, Denise; son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin and Courtney Jopling; brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Jennifer Jopling; mother in-law, Linda Durrett; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin and Janice Fuchshuber; nieces, Madelyn and Arianna Jopling and Jenna Dubose; nephew, Kyle Fuchshuber; and many other beloved relatives.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the American Heart Association, American Kidney Fund, or the Diabetes Research and Action Education Foundation, in his memory, is suggested.
