Gregory Myers

1954 - 2025

Gregory Neal Myers, 71, of Wimberley, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on September 26, 2025, after a battle with pneumonia. A cancer survivor, Greg lived with courage and resilience, cherishing every moment with his loved ones.

Born on May 17, 1954, to the late Jack and Nina Myers, Greg grew up in a close-knit family and carried those values throughout his life. He married the love of his life, Susan, on December 23, 1978, and together they built a beautiful family and a home full of adventure, love, and laughter. Greg and Susan made Wimberley their home in 1983, where they raised their daughters and became deeply rooted in the community.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; their daughters Courtney Mecklenburg (Allen), Lauren Myers, and Whitney Tabash (Alex); and his grandchildren Brooke (13), Reagan (10), and Griffin (2). He also leaves behind his siblings Pam (Harold) Tannahill, Kent (Dianne) Myers, and Randy (Charlene) Myers; along with extended family Irene Hanzman, Kevin Tannahill, Kyle Myers, Heather Tannahill, Lance Myers, Clark Myers, and Mason Myers. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Nina Myers. He will also be remembered and greatly missed by his many friends from his days as a Richland Hills High School Rebel.

Greg graduated from the University of Texas with his undergraduate degree and later earned his Master's degree in Advertising from the University of North Texas. In the 1980s, he founded Texas Medical Plans, an insurance agency that served countless families across the region, and later owned and operated Myers Land and Investments. He also gave back to his community through his service on the WISD School Board and as one of the founding members of Cypress Creek Church in Wimberley.

An adventurer at heart, Greg loved the outdoors - river rafting, kayaking, hiking, and exploring natural wonders like Big Bend and the Grand Canyon. He valued the lifelong friendships formed during his Richland Hills High School years and enjoyed traveling with his close-knit group of buddies. He also loved playing racquetball with friends from Texas State University, who became an important part of his circle. Greg had a playful spirit, especially when it came to Halloween, never missing the chance to decorate, dress up, and bring joy to others. He also had a special love for dogs, often joking they were his "only friends," though his family and friends knew just how loved he truly was.

Most of all, Greg will be remembered for his devotion to family, his adventurous spirit, and the laughter he shared so generously. His memory will live on in the lives of those he loved and those who loved him.
