Guadalupe Rangel Obituary
Graveside Service: 1 p.m. Friday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, with a chapel service at 11 a.m. at Carrillo Funeral Chapel.
Survivors: sons, Rick, Eric, Nick and Derick Rangel; daughters, Kayla and Stephanie Rangel; brothers, Julian Rangel and Joe Munoz; sisters, Martha Lopez and Esther Bargas; and 12 grandchildren.

Our sympathies to the Rangel Family. Our thoughts and prayers are with Lupe and the family. Lupe was like a brother to all of us. Many of us knew Lupe way back to our growing up days in La Loma. Others knew him from our days at the Northside Recreation Center on the basketball court and on the softball field diamonds. He was given the nickname “Bruiser” because of his punishing style of play on the court and his will to win. We all cherish and remember those times especially his contagious laughter. He was a person that would listen to our life struggles as well. He was just simply a good person and it’s evident and present in his children. Lupe was a central member of – the “Northside Rec Basketball Legends” a group of close friends that bonded together as kids through today. The definition of a Legend is a story or collection of related stories popularly regarded as true. Lupe’s life meant something to many. While we will physically miss him we should rest assure that his legend will continue. God keep you and watch over you Bruiser.
