Hank Harvey Obituary

Hank Harvey, 63, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2012. Service: 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, 777 N. Walnut Creek Drive, Mansfield. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel of Fort Worth. Memorials: Ronald McDonald House Charities, www.rmhc.org. Hank was born Jan. 20, 1949, in Fort Worth to Jim and Juanita Harvey. He graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1967 and then attended McMurray College for two years on a football scholarship. He worked in sales for numerous tool companies, most recently of which was Salem Tools. Hank had many hobbies, which included golfing in his younger years and bird hunting with his beloved dogs. He also enjoyed Dallas Cowboys football and Texas Rangers and Fort Worth Cats baseball. And on the 39th week of the year, Hank could always be found in Branson, Mo., with Ann, Bill and Jerrie. However, what he enjoyed most was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Hank was a man of few words, but made a profound impact on the lives he touched. Hank was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Shelby Tipping. Survivors: Loving wife, Ann Harvey; children, Kara Peck and husband, Dave, Tony Tipping and wife, Leslie, and Brad Tipping; grandchildren, Libby and Meg Peck, and Quinn and Owen Tipping; brother, James William Harvey Jr.; twin sister, Grace Harvey; dear friend, Cap Betty; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

To Hank's Family, thoughts & prayers to you during this difficult time. Hank visited our facility years ago, but that was the basis for a solid friendship. During the various conferences or shows, we would look for each other and make each other laugh till we cried. He was always bragging about his family and filling me in on the latest news flash. I will truly miss our meetings, but the absence is short term, as we will all be together again for eternity. God give you strength... Joe Sarkees (Hank called me Joe Mama!)

Ann, Tony, and Brad, I heard the news today and was deeply saddened. Who didn't think the world of the Hank-ster? as I fondly called him. His heart was as big as he was. Hank will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to you guys during this difficult time.

To Grace & Hank's family, I'm sadden to hear of Hank's passing. As he was to many others, Hank was friend and fellow football team mate at Forest Oak and Poly. A few months back, after connecting again on facebook, we shared a few memories of working as lifeguards at Berry Swim Club.

For Hank"s family,
We had some great times in our younger days. Juanita and my mom were friends and both Moms raising their kids after being widowed. Some holiday dinners and other "hanging out times" will always live in my memory.
Just a bunch of fun loving kids creating an extended family with great love for a couple of commited mothers.
I thank God for the bonds created and wish you God's peace as we plan to meet again some day in a better place.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dear loved one, Hank. I attended elementary school with Hank and Grace for several years. He and Grace were kids that were friends to everyone they met. I remember Hank was quiet, sincere, and very knowledgible on most every subject. One day in Health class the teacher made the statement that at night when we took a bath we were to go straight to bed. Hank raised his hand and said or roll up in a blanket and watch TV.

Please take comfort in knowing that Hank is in a better place wrapped in the arms of Jesus waiting for the rest of us to come be with him.

Praying that God will comfort your hearts today and the days to come.
