Helen was born in Fort Worth on Sept. 3, 1912, to Orsen E. Paxton and his wife, Alma. In her early years, Helen lived the life of an Army brat and traveled extensively with her family. As a toddler, she lived along the Texas/Mexico border while her father served under Gen. "Blackjack" Pershing. In her teens, Helen lived and attended high school in Hawaii, a memory she always cherished. Upon returning to Fort Worth, Helen met and married Albert Clay Herrmann. They lived in Fort Worth until 1947, when they moved to Gilmer, where Clay and Helen raised three sons. Helen moved back to Fort Worth in the late 1970s after Clay's death, and she had lived in Fort Worth since. She loved to travel, visit with friends and family and play with her two grandsons. She also loved her Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Clay; her mother and father; sisters, Frances Paxton Fields and Margie Paxton Huff; and brothers, Orsen E. Paxton Jr. and John Paxton.
Survivors: Sons and their wives, Richard and Jeanette Herrmann of Athens, Ala., Mickey and Judy Herrmann of Houston and Don and Pam Herrmann of Fort Worth; grandsons, Clay and Kit; her baby sister, Doris Rivera of Providence, R.I.; and her beloved sisters-in-law, Betty Paxton of Arlington and Donna Herrmann of Gilmer.

Richard--
Carol and I were sorry to see your mother's obituary in the paper. I'm forwarding it to Annette. Both your parents were important to me. Fine folks. I think of them often when I think what a nice home Ft. Worth has been.
