Howard Spaulding Obituary

Howard Spaulding, 73, passed away Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at his residence.

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens.

Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials: Memorials in Howard's memory may be made to Chimala Mission Hospital and School, c/o New York Avenue Church of Christ, 5371 New York Avenue, Arlington, Texas 76018-4910.

Howard Spaulding was born Oct. 5, 1930, in the Polytechnic area of Fort Worth, to Horace and Pauline Spaulding. He attended the old Tech High School in North Fort Worth.

He went into the Marine Corps in 1951. Howard started working in the body shop at General Motors in Arlington in 1954, and retired in 1984. He was a member of New York Avenue Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Clynt Spaulding.

Survivors: Wife of 45 years, Wanda Sue; son, Dennis Spaulding and his wife, Brenda, of Joshua; daughter, Pamela Allen and her husband, Mike, of Hancock, N.Y.; daughter, Traci Hankins and her husband, Mark, of Arlington; brother, Clyde Spaulding and his wife, Shirley, of Midland; grandsons, Jeremy Spaulding and his wife, Eva, Matt Allen, Brian, Tim, and Jon Hankins; great-grandsons, Jeremy Jr. and Jayden Spaulding; and many close relatives and a host of friends.

Howard was a special man with a special talent for art which he shared with us many times. We were blessed to know him.

Howard was a great guy. I went to high school with him. He could throw the most beautiful spiral pass for 90 yards.Best I've ever seen.
