Ian Woodhouse Obituary

Ian K. Woodhouse, loving husband, father, son and friend, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009. He was 59 years old.
Service: 3 p.m. Friday, March 6, in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ian Woodhouse Family Fund at any Bank of America branch.
Ian was born to Francis William Alfred and Audrey Woodhouse in London, England, on June 3, 1949. He attended Raleigh Sweyne School and Royal Air Force Halton where he attained a B.S. in electrical engineering. After moving to Texas, he attended the SMU and Cox School of Business Executive MBA Program, Harvard Business School and Keys to IBM Management Excellence and Technical and Leadership Training.
After serving in the Royal Air Force, he worked as computer programmer at Lombard North Central, then at IBM as a systems analyst. He then worked for Altergo in London, where he met and developed the network of friends and business colleagues who would remain with him throughout the rest of his life. He co-founded Rendeck in Holland and moved to the United States to expand its presence. He later worked for MSP in Lexington, Mass., and moved to Texas in 1986 to join Texas Instruments as the national sales and marketing manager. He was the chairman and CEO of Xenos Corp., and then served as a managing director with Ovation Group working with Nextel Communications, Verizon Wireless, GE Power Systems and then Sales Manager Software.
Ian was an extremely popular, kind and intelligent man who was loved by his friends and family, and respected by those who had the honor of working with him. He was caring and always there for anyone needing help. He was well traveled and well read, had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, great sense of humor, enjoyed sports, animals, laughter, fun and spending time with his family. Not only was he a wonderful father to his children, but he was also their best friend and mentor. We find comfort in knowing he is with his beloved son, Peter, in heaven now.
Ian was preceded in death by his father, Francis William Alfred Woodhouse; son, Peter Francis Woodhouse; mother-in-law, Eva Mears; father-in-law, Chapin Mears; niece, Heidi Mears; brother-in-law, Eddie Mears; maternal grandparents, James and Ethel Smith; paternal grandparents, Jack and Nelly Clark; and his aunt, Doreen Hatch.
