Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane B.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jack's name to Boy Scouts of America.
Jack was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Newark, N.J., to the late Jack Spaulding and Ada Ruth Harlan Germaine. A very proud Eagle Scout, he graduated from Southside High School in Elmira, N.Y., in 1950. He loved boating, fishing and being at sea, so he joined the reserves at age 18. A 16-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, Jack served aboard the Stephen Potter during the Korean War.
He received his bachelor of science degree in mathematics and psychology from the University of Illinois. A contractor for NASA for many years, he worked on the Gemini, Apollo and space shuttle programs. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Jack was my neighbor and friend in Destin. We shared stories and he often helped me when I needed it. Of course, I didn't have to even ask. I felt he watched over me.
I will truly miss him. My prayers are with you Elaine.
