Jack will always be remembered as one of my favorite childhood friends.
I always looked forward to summers past when Jack and Linda would come visit and I would get to spend time hearing of great adventures from my older heros. I remember when Jack had both legs broke from a skiing accident - wheeling through the old house on the hill, I ran him into the door frame - just a little painful! Fourth of July picnics, homemade ice cream with Linda sitting on the freezer while everyone took turns cranking, the Hip-Pocket Theatre, tales from The Cellar, time at the lake, watermelon. It's been several years since we last spoke, but the memories are just as vivid as yesterday. It just seems so ironic that he died in an auto accident. Even when we were kids, he drove like an old Grandpa. He will not be forgotten and will forever hold a place in my heart.

Jack Kirkpatrick was larger than life for me. He was one of the most adventuresome men I have ever met. His zest for life made him exhilarating to be with, and I was NEVER bored in his company. He was full of surprises. Q and I were fortunate to have visited with him not too long ago, when he admitted that he was enjoying his work there in New Mexico. Quentin's comment was that Jack had the ability, rare in the legal profession, to be non-judgmental, but to be openly willing to help those in trouble. He was one of my favorite people and I miss him, though I can say my life and my memories are fuller for his presence there.
My sincerest condolences to his family.
