Poppa,
A few months ago, you asked me if you made a difference in my life. I answered "probably more than anyone else" and I meant it. I could fill this entire guest book with examples how... after all, it's been a lifetime of your love, influence, understanding, teachings, and going to bat for me. You've been a father by choice, and I hope you know how deeply I cherrish that bond between us.
I'm going to miss you so much... especially those funny little antics you and Mom come up with together. It won't be the same, but we all go on in life with you deeply rooted in our hearts.
With all my love... your grand-daughter-daughter,
Stacy "Marella"
PS... "Act as if I were with ya" ;)

You were always my favorite Uncle. You were always teasing me when I was little and of course I loved every minute.
One special memory of you was when I wanted a boyfriend so bad that Mom-maw gave me a picture of you in your Air Force uniform and I took it to school to show my nemesis. I remember telling her you were my boyfriend and she thought you were so good looking. I carried that picture with me for the longest time.
I have a picture of you and me standing at the Downing Cottage at the stairs with your arm around me that I cherish.
You shared so many memories with me about our family history and I thank you for the information you provided.
We celebrate your life, all that you accomplished, and those people you love.
