James Alread Obituary

James Edward "Eddie" Alread NORTH RICHLAND HILLS--James Edward "Eddie" Alread, 75, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer. SERVICE: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. A short reception will follow the service at Lucas. Burial attended by the family will be in Smithfield Cemetery. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Cancer Society. Eddie was born in November of 1943 in Los Angeles, Calif., and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, where he graduated from Amon Carter-Riverside High School and went on to attend North Texas State. He married the love of his life, Linda Kay, in 1966. She and Eddie built a home in Smithfield, raising one son, Scott, born in 1969. Eddie was a lifelong member of Smithfield United Methodist Church and worked for 38 years at Mrs. Baird's Bakery. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Cameron and Helen Alread. SURVIVORS: Wife, Kay; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Stephanie; grandchildren, Garrett, Hudson and Scarlett; brother, Cameron, sister-in-law, Shirley; brother-in-law, Harold; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of close friends.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is always so very hard to lose a loved one in death and our loving Heavenly Father is very aware and understands your painful loss. He will listen to your prayer and pay attention to your pleas for help because he is near to all those calling on him. He will hear your cry for help and give you comfort.
